There are two kettlebells above. What’s the difference between them? One is larger and has a more intricate design, but otherwise, they look fairly similar. So you should just choose whichever one is cheaper, right?
The truth is that your choice between these two kettlebells can make a huge impact on how well you meet your Kettlebell Sport goals.
The kettlebell on the left is a standard issue competition kettlebell that you can get anywhere in the U.S. Kettlebell Kings carries these, but they have significant drawbacks. To begin with, the window of the kettlebell (the area from the bottom of the handle to the top of the bell) is fairly small, which can make it hard to efficiently insert your hand during snatches, jerks, and cleans. Just as significant, the handle curves dramatically towards the bell, which can weaken your grip and reduce the number of repetitions you can complete. When your kettlebell doesn’t allow you to maximize your reps, it’s also limiting your ability to build your strength and endurance to a competitive level. In other words, you may be missing out on reaching your goals because you have been using the standard competition kettlebell.
Kettlebell Kings now carries an elite competition kettlebell option. Enter the kettlebell on the right, one of our new Kettlebell Sport Series models. You’ll notice that we have compensated for all of the limitations found in the kettlebell on the left. The window space has been maximized, allowing more room for hand insertion. The curve issues have been addressed; the Kettlebell Sport Series model slopes upward and lacks the dramatic curve towards the bell.
Working with the Kettlebell Sport Series kettlebell will allow you to get the repetitions you need to progress in your training. Kettlebell Sport is all about maximizing efficiency, so every little adjustment has a huge impact on the end result of your training and competition sets. Small alterations in the design of the competition kettlebell can make a huge impact on whether or not you achieve your lifting goals.
